The search begins in public
You post your suburb, family stage, and children's age bands in a large group—just to ask who is nearby.
Designed for Indian families worldwide
Finding family friends abroad often means sharing your area, life stage, and children's age bands in a public group—then hoping the right household happens to be close. Find Desi Families is early access for a more private search by practical distance and family stage.

The problem
You can belong to a large online community and still not know one compatible family close enough for everyday friendship, playdates, or weekend plans. The usual workaround is a public post asking whether the right family happens to be nearby.
You post your suburb, family stage, and children's age bands in a large group—just to ask who is nearby.
“GTA families” or “New Jersey parents” still does not tell you who is close enough for an ordinary Saturday.
Toddler families, couples without children, newcomers, and parents of teenagers may want very different friendships.
A public comment or unsolicited message can begin a conversation before both households privately choose to connect.
So family life abroad can stay lonely, random, or too public.
The common workaround
Facebook and WhatsApp communities can be valuable places to belong. But a broad invitation is not the same as finding a compatible family within the distance your everyday life can support.
Post publicly → comment “JOIN” → enter a large chat → hope the right family is nearby
Choose an approximate area → add family context → connect only after mutual interest

Why we exist
Find Desi Families is being designed for adult-led Indian households living away from home. It narrows a broad public search into private discovery based on useful distance, compatible family context, and shared intent. A conversation opens only after mutual interest, and every family decides whether, when, and where to meet.
Why we're building this
This started with a frustration in our own desi family life abroad: joining large community groups still did not help us find one compatible family close enough for an ordinary weekend. The alternative was often to share family details publicly and hope the right household replied. We believe that search can be more private, local, and mutual.
What we're building
The future product will not be another public feed, event organizer, or family directory. It will keep discovery focused and households in control.
Choose an approximate area and a distance that works for your family's real routine.
Compare household stage, children's age bands, and the kinds of connection each family wants.
Private communication opens only after both households choose to connect.
Families decide whether, when, and where to meet. We do not arrange meetups.
Privacy is part of the product
To join early access, we ask only for coarse location, household-stage preferences, and a verified email. Your answers help us plan availability by area and never create a public household profile.
Questions, answered plainly
No. Matching and private communication are not available yet. We plan one worldwide product launch; the quality of nearby results will depend on verified local participation.
Your preview shows only the private search you set: area, household context, goals, and distance. It never displays a current-member list or local inventory.
Today we verify control of an email inbox. Stronger household-trust requirements will be defined and tested before private communication is enabled; email alone does not prove identity, family status, ethnicity, or safety.
The waitlist never asks for child names, photos, schools, exact birth dates, or exact home addresses. Broad age bands help us understand family stage without identifying a child.
No. Families decide whether, when, and where to meet. The platform will not host or supervise their plans.
Those groups are useful for broad community, and Find Desi Families is not meant to replace them. We are designing the private discovery step they do not provide: practical distance, family-stage fit, and mutual interest before communication opens.
You can explore the private search concept worldwide. Identified email signup starts in Canada and the United States while country-specific privacy requirements are reviewed.
